Let’s get you sorted…
This is the most common issue. And there are few things to check…
- Do you have Sky Q? It sounds silly, but our app is called Remote Control for Sky Q for a reason! If you are using Sky Stream or Sky Glass, our app is not compatible with your Sky system! We put this clearly in the description and in the app itself as well as in the title.
- Is your phone on the same WiFi network as your Sky boxes? If not, it cannot connect to your Sky system. Sometimes, if you have your main Sky Q box plugged directly into your router, this creates a different network just for your TV which stops the app communicating. To fix this, on your main Sky box, go to Settings > Network and change the network to the same WiFi network your phone is connected to.
- If you’ve done all of this, sometimes closing the app completely, re-opening and rescanning will pick up your boxes! Give that a shot, and provided you do have Sky Q, the app will work brilliantly for you!
Unfortunately, our app doesn’t change the volume on your TV. This is because there are hundred of different brands out there and we don’t know what TV you have! Our app controls your Sky Q box amazingly! But it cannot control your TV volume!
We know! They are! We are a small software house and we need to make money to continue to exist. One way we do that is through adverts. However, you can pay to remove them permanently if they are too annoying – or you can keep them and continue using the app – it’s your call!
